Using viewer submitted requests, Genealogy Roadshow answers complex questions of who we are, where we come from and what our DNA reveals. Sharing yet-to-be-broadcast footage of one of her favorite segments, Kenyatta will present a behind the scenes look at what is involved in creating television segments that are both factual and entertaining. In addition, Kenyatta will be sharing her insights on research, DNA and the future of genealogy.


Kenyatta D. Berry, Esq. is a co-host and genealogist on Genealogy Roadshow (PBS). A native of Detroit, Ms. Berry began her genealogical journey while in law school and studying at the State Library of Michigan in Lansing. Having accumulated more than fifteen years of experience in genealogy research and writing, she is on the Council of the Corporation for the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) and has appeared on many radio and TV programs. A frequent lecturer and writing, her focus is on African American, Slave Ancestral Research and DNA.

The third season of Genealogy Roadshow premieres May 17, 2016, at 8 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and follows a diverse cast of participants on an emotional journey, using history and science to uncover fascinating family stories. Each individual's past links to a larger community history, revealing the rich cultural tapestry of America. This season's programs feature participants from Los Angeles to Boston who want to explore genealogical mysteries.
