Jamboree 2015: Sign the Genealogists' Declaration of Rights

Guest Post by Jan Alpert

Have you Signed the Genealogists' Declaration of Rights?

In case you did not have an opportunity to sign the Genealogists' Declaration of Rights at the Jamboree last June, forms will be available for you to sign on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the IAJGS Booth.

The Genealogists' Declaration of Rights lets our national and state legislators know that genealogists need access to vital records.

The Genealogists' Declaration of Rights is sponsored by the Records Preservation and Access Committee including the Federation of Genealogical Societies, The International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies, and the National Genealogical Society. Over 7,800 signatures have been obtained since May 2014 at national genealogy conferences, the Jamboree, by local, state, and regional societies, and online at http://bit.ly/gen-declaration. Our goal is 10,000 signatures by the end of 2015.
